Frontline Officials and Priority Groups to Receive Fourth Doses of Pfizer Vaccine

PHNOM PENH: The Prime Minister of Cambodia has announced that doctors, nurses, athletes, journalists and artists will be vaccinated as frontline civil servants for the fourth dose. The Royal Government will be using the Australian donated doses of Pfizer vaccine.

On the occasion of handing over the Royal Government's prize money to Ouk Srey Mom after winning the world gold medal in the Petanque competition, this Wednesday at the Peace Palace, Prime Minister has stated:

"Currently, we have more than 2.3 million doses of Pfizer vaccine in hand, so it can be used as a fourth dose for the priority group of about 700,000 doses," he said.

It should also be noted the Prime Minister’s statement comes at a time when daily cases of Covid-19 is in sharply rise around the world, moved by the highly infection rates of the Omicron variant.

As of today, Cambodia has in total 94 patients positives for the Omicron variant. All infections were detected as imported cases.
